Odyssey of the Mind provides creative problem-solving opportunities for teams that consist of no more than 7 team members.  Teams apply their creativity to solve problems and find innovative solutions to a "long term" problem that can range from building a mechanical device to a team's own interpretation of a literary classic.  The team- created solution to the long term problem is represented in an eight minute performance.  Spontaneous problems are another component and teams must "think on their feet" to respond to verbal or hands on problems.  Odyssey of the Mind encourages creative thinking and teamwork and rewards those that think "outside the box."
